Affirmations To Instill Positive Values In Your Life

While recovering from a gum infection and then oral surgery, spring marched right into every-one's life without me. But I was not absent from you hearts and your prayers. Your emails and phone calls witness to that fact. And I am so grateful!

I could not wait to get out into the yard to take pictures of the first blooms. I wanted to share the beauty I saw from my windows. But, until today, all I could do was recover and watch from afar. I was in what we who are chronically ill refer to as the dreaded "down time."

Down time is when we are suffering with an illness and our chronic fatigue kicks in. It is almost impossible to do anything other than what is required to live. You know like breathing, eating, going to the bath room. As much as you might want to visit us, and sometimes we want to see you more than you want to visit, it is not a time for company. It is a time for rest and rejuvenation.

Down time can be hard on friends and family. It is impossible for anyone who is not suffering with a chronic illness to understand how important it is to use down time wisely. It means that the person suffering will miss family functions and may have to miss scheduled social affairs. It means that you will not be able to socialize on the phone or the computer. It is self induced isolation. It may be the difference between a short recovery period and not recovering at all.

Those of us who have been ill for a number of years all ready know that during down time, we are really unable to form a thought worthy of conversation. We should be quite and we need to be still. We realize that a lot of feeling are hurt during down time. What the outside love one witness is raw unbound nerves. The words come out cold and uncaring. They are words that are better left unsaid. So when your chronically ill friend or love one says that they will have to bow out of an engagement, count it as a blessing. Then go and enjoy your event.

When they are up again, they will contact you. We always do. We love you!

OK, enough of catching up. Lingering too long on some-one's illness can certainly bring illness to you. One blog that teaches the "Law of Attraction" in every day terms and situations is Carol King at "Law of Attraction Help and "Missing Ingredient Coaching."

Hi Mckay,

A while back you posted a comment on my blog about Shanna Gilfix. I never got a chance to really read your blog till today being so busy in music business.

I just wanted to say that you touched my heart. Just when people think their lives are at the bottom you show the world that not even sickness can stop you from taking beautiful pictures and writing a blog.

I wish more than anything that I might get my life back together someday so I can pray for you. I don't think God will listen to my prayers right now, but just know I am thinking of you and wishing you hope.

Though my blog is mainly music related I am going to put a link to your blog there. No need to return the link.

You take care now.

Hi Discovery Sound;

You have me teared up today. Being sick is not an excuse not to live life. It is an opportunity to discover new ways of living it. I thank you so very much. But don't give me too much credit. I do have my occasional pity parties.

Don't believe the negative hype. God is much bigger than we sometimes give credit. No matter what the circumstance, God always listen and always answers. Even when we don't like the answer.

It is us who are usually not listening. So please pray for me. I know with all my being that your prayers are heard.

Be well

Hi Chick;

Sorry you are feeling a little down. You say you wish you could feel that way, but have you asked for tranquility?

Sometimes we long for feeling that we forget to simply ask for.

Be well my friend.

Mckay k,

I'm glad you're feeling better. I missed you. I had oral surgery 12/26 and I know it knocked me for a loop.

Two days ago I had a colonoscopy (my 4th) and I have had a hard time bouncing back this time. Eating has been difficult or impossible. This has made me weak from not eating. (I didn't eat solid food for a couple of days before starting the official prep because of bad reactions to past preps). The pain and nausea is better today than yesterday (thank goodness)!

I was planning on writing my first blog post in awhile tonight but I got sidetracked and it doesn't look like that will happen.

I'm glad I came across your post. I always love your videos and the spring ones are a special treat.

Your positive attitude, inner peace, and insightfulness is always evident. You are one special lady and it's always nice to hear from you!!! :)

Oh Jeanne, even though this one was difficult, this colonoscopy seems to have gone better than the three earlier ones. From reading your previous blogs, I know of the horrible vomiting you have experienced in the past from the prep. Colonoscopies are never fun but a necessary diagnostic tool. I hope this one exposes the reason for your abdominal discomfort.

Take care and pamper yourself. You deserve the rest.

My sweetest and most inspirational KS!

I adore your video!! I am sorry that you have been in 'down time', and yes yes yes, we that suffer from Chronic Illnesses know exactly what you mean by not being able to come out with even a "nice sounding phrase!" It IS better that we are just left alone to heal. That is what healing is all about anyway isn't it? Not a time for parties or chatting long convos or anything else. Just BE...like in your video. Calming music, and beautiful thoughts of spring and the flowers it brings.

I wish you more days upcoming of feeling just as good as you can feel!!

You know I adore you...

Hi Shauna; As someone who suffers constantly conquering life's health struggles, I know you understand exactly what I mean.

It is so nice to see you visiting your web friends. I know how difficult just typing out a few lines have become for you. So, it means so much to see a note from you.

Hang in there my sweet dear friend.

I think to fight a chronic disease you not only need a very strong and positive mind but also a very close circle of friends who are very positive and warm and loving.The support of this group makes you start living life in a new way.
